2,500 kilos of hashish seized inside a farm in Ayamonte

Joint operation of the Tax Agency and the Civil Guard

  • A pistol, two magazines with ammunition, several boxes of mobile phones, sim cards and number plates from five different vehicles were seized.
  • The organisation used two stolen vans to transport the drugs.

22 November 2022.- The Tax Agency and the Guardia Civil, in a joint operation, have seized 2,415 kilos of hashish hidden on a farm in Ayamonte and have arrested a person for allegedly committing a crime against public health.

The events occurred when the Guardia Civil headquarters became aware of the existence of a semi-rigid boat close to the coast of Ayamonte (Huelva), from which drugs could have been transferred to two other boats that were also in the area.

For all of these reasons, a device was set up in which Customs Surveillance officers from the Tax Agency and several units of the Guardia Civil participated, who went to the place where the possible landing of the drugs took place.

After inspecting the area, two vans were found that were reported stolen and were used to transport the hashish.It was also possible to locate the place where the drugs might be stored, a farm in the town of Ayamonte.

After requesting entry and search of the property from the competent judicial authority due to indications of drug storage, 69 bundles of hashish, a pistol, two magazines with ammunition, several boxes of mobile phones, sim cards and number plates from five different vehicles were seized inside.

The detainee and the proceedings will be sent to the Juzgado de Instrucción nº 2 of Ayamonte.

The operation involved Customs Surveillance officers from the Tax Agency, OCON-EDOA anti-drug trafficking agents from the Huelva Civil Guard Command and the Ayamonte Tax and Border Patrol.
