Validation of commodity codes in G5, EXS and ETD

Starting next Monday, June 5, the validation of commodity codes in G5, EXS and ETD will be strict. Declarations containing 6-character (Harmonized System WCO ) or 8-character (Combined Nomenclature EU ) commodity codes will be rejected. in which only a significant code is declared in the 'tariff heading' part (first four characters) followed by two or four zeros filling in up to the minimum required. These pairs of zeros will only be allowed at the end of the merchandise code when it is enabled for this purpose due to the lack of tariff subclassifications.

The declared merchandise code must exist in the database TARIC , available in our electronic office in the Integrated Application Tariff Consultation ( TARIC ) In the following link:

Tax Agency: Consult the applicable Integrated Tariff of the European Communities (TARIC)

As an example, as of the date of publication of this statement, merchandise codes 842800, 84280000, 84281000 will not be allowed, and one of the enabled codes of 6 or 8 characters must be detailed:

  • In the harmonized system they would be: 842810, 842820, 842831 and 842832
  • In the combined nomenclature they would be: 84281020, 84281080, 84282020, 84282080, 84283100 and 84283200
