I.4.1.3.3. Destination Customs
Upon arrival, the goods must be presented to the destination customs office or to the authorized recipient along with the DAT and LdA, if necessary.
Customs, which will have already received the IE001 message, has all the necessary details regarding the transit declaration and is therefore in a position to decide in advance which controls it deems necessary.
When the destination customs office enters the NRM into the NCTS, it automatically locates the IE001 message corresponding to the goods, which will be the basis for any action or control it undertakes.
The destination customs office then immediately sends message IE006 to the departure customs office.
Once the corresponding controls have been carried out, the destination customs office notifies the departure customs office of the results via message IE018, informing it of any irregularities.
Messages IE006 and IE018 are required by the customs office of departure to complete the transit operation and release the guarantees used for it.
