I.4.2.5.1. Background and legislation

Article 226, paragraph 3, letter e), and Article 227, paragraph 2, letter e), of the UCC

The rules governing the import, export, and transit of goods destined for NATO forces are set out in the Convention between the States Parties to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization on the Status of Their Forces, signed in London on June 19, 1951.

The document used for the transport of such goods is the NATO form 302. This form may only be used when goods are circulated under a mandate and under the order of NATO forces.

The EU provisions governing the use of NATO Form 302 as a transit document for the Union are set out in Articles 285 to 287 of the Agreement.
