IV.3.3.2.2. Customs procedures upon arrival

Article 43 of Appendix I to the Convention

At each customs crossing, the DAT, including the NRM, must be presented along with the goods.

Article 304 of the AE

Customs or transit customs offices may inspect the goods when necessary. Any inspection will be carried out primarily on the basis of the transit operation data received from the customs office of departure in message IE050.

CUSTOMS
Customs crossing:

  • will register the NRM;
  • will record the border crossing; and
  • will send message IE118 to the customs office of departure.

If the goods are subject to export restrictions, one of the following statements will appear on the DAT:

  • in case of common transit:
    DG0 ("Export from a country subject to restrictions"); either
    DG1 ("Export from a country subject to the payment of duties").
  • in case of transit of the Union:
    DG0 ("Export from the EU subject to restrictions"); either
    DG1 ("Export from the EU subject to payment of duties").
