IV.4.2. General theoretical aspects and relevant legislation
In the final phase of the transit operation, the goods will be presented to the destination customs office, along with the DAT and any information required by the destination customs office (e.g., a receipt issued by the police in the event of an accident, a receipt issued by a vehicle repair service, a CMR, etc.). This constitutes the end of the transit operation. The destination customs office will send the message "Notice of Arrival" (IE006) to the departure customs office immediately.
The destination customs office will inspect the goods based on the information collected in the NCTS, supplemented, where applicable, with data from the DAT, enter the inspection results, and send the "Inspection Results" message (IE018) to the customs office of departure.
If no discrepancies are detected, the customs office of departure will complete the transit operation.
Otherwise, the necessary measures will be taken.
