IX.2.2.1. Authorization process

Annex 9, Part II, Section 3, of the TIR Convention

In practice, the authorized guarantor association and the competent authorities of the country of registration of the operator requesting authorization jointly assess whether the criteria set out in the TIR Convention are met. This Convention does not assign any specific duties to any of them, but rather allows them to apply their own national laws, regulations and practices in the execution of the procedure.
