IX.4.3.1. Recommendation on the use of a code system for reporting defects in the approval certificate observations

Annexes 2, 3 and 4 of the TIR Convention

On 11 June 2015, the Administrative Committee of the TIR Convention decided to recommend that customs authorities, when recording defects in Table 10 of the approval certificate, supplement the manual entry with a coding system indicating the location and type of any defect. The uniform code system specified in this Recommendation shall be used by all customs authorities in the Union. However, the fact that no code is specified in Table 10 of the approval certificate shall not prevent the acceptance of an approval certificate, provided that the provisions of Annex 3 to the TIR Convention are complied with.
