In order for the goods to be released for the TIR operation, a guarantee must be in place. For TIR operations, the guarantee is presented in the form of a valid TIR Carnet. In the NCTS, the type of guarantee B and the TIR carnet number are used. Additional information on guarantees is provided in section IX.3.
