IX.5.6.2. Irregularities in the seals

The customs authorities at the destination or exit office must check whether the seals are intact. If they have been broken or tampered with, the destination or exit customs office will indicate this in the "Control Results" message (IE018) sent to the departure or entry customs office.

In such cases, the customs office will assess the situation based on the facts presented and determine what appropriate measures are necessary (e.g., the possibility of inspecting the goods) before informing the customs office of departure or entry.
