VIII.3.3.1. Information exchange messages

At any time during the investigation and collection procedures, the messages "Investigation and Collection Information" (IE144) and "Request for Investigation and Collection Information" (IE145) may be sent to exchange additional information or ask questions about a specific shipment.

This exchange of information may be initiated by both the customs office of departure and the customs office of destination; To continue the procedure, it will not be necessary to provide a response (additional messages).

The IE144 message will be used by the customs office of departure and the IE145 message, in turn, by the customs office of destination.

If additional documents need to be submitted in paper form, these may be sent by other means (fax, mail, email, etc.) directly to the contact person listed in the messages, clearly stating the MRN of the movement to which they correspond and, when sent in paper form, under form TC20 BIS (see the model in Annex VII.8.4).
