VIII.3.4.3. Consequences for the initial collection action

Article 165 of the AE

When the new collection authority has completed the collection procedures and sent the "Notification of Collection Execution" message (IE152), the original collection authority:

  • will cancel the collection action that has been initiated but not yet completed (and which had been suspended); or
  • will return the sums already received to the debtor (or guarantor).

Note:
If the authorities and places are located in the same Contracting Party, only charges collected other than customs duties shall be refunded.
