Electronic certificate
The electronic certificate is requested from a Certification Authority (CA).Generally speaking, three steps can be described in order to obtain it:
- Apply via Internet from the Certification Authority's website
- In the second step, the applicant must make a personal visit to one of the Registration Offices, also called Registration Authorities, approved by the CA.The Tax Agency acts as the Registration Office for identity accreditation (in no case is it the issuing entity of the certificate) of electronic certificates issued by the Spanish Royal Mint (FNMT).In order to go to a Tax Agency office, you need to request an appointment.
- The last step is to download the certificate, normally over the internet.
