August 5, 2009. As of July 30, the Tax Agency has already paid 9,958 million euros to 13,585,167 taxpayers who requested a refund in their 2008 Personal Income Tax (IRPF) return. Compared to the same dates last year, the increase is 17% in the amount and 15% in the number of taxpayers.

In the 08 Income campaign, 19,224,118 personal income tax returns were filed, of which 15,572,106 requested a refund. Therefore, 87% of the requested returns have already been made. According to the legal deadline, the Tax Agency has until the end of the year to make the refunds, but in recent years a significant management effort has been made to attend to the majority as soon as possible. This year the effort has been accentuated and the commitment to make 85% of returns before the beginning of August has been exceeded.

INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE

During the campaign, which covers the months of May and June, and during the previous fifteen days in which drafts can now be confirmed, 8,520,141 calls were answered to the information and assistance numbers, 2% more than the previous year. , at an average of more than 100,000 calls daily, including weekends.

2,229,230 previously agreed appointments for the completion and presentation of personal income tax between the offices of the Tax Agency and the Income platforms of collaborating organizations were also attended to, 3% more than in last year's campaign. A total of 278,994 appointments were not attended due to the non-attendance of the taxpayer who requested them, 18% less than in the previous year. The Renta 08 campaign was designed to grant three million prior appointments.

In the Income 08 campaign, 20,652,773 tax drafts and data have been sent to taxpayers, 7.2% more than last year. In this year there are once again more tax drafts and data issued than the number of declarations presented, since these can be joint, or can even be requested without being required to declare.

6,913,368 personal income tax returns have been filed online, 22.9% more than in 2008. Of the total declarations, those presented online represent 35%.

DRAFTS

In the Income 08 campaign, 13,872,788 draft declarations were sent, 8.9% more than the previous year. It must be remembered that not all taxpayers can access this help service, since it depends on the nature and composition of the income for which they have to declare. Of the total drafts sent, 7,693,617 were confirmed, 16.6% more than last year.
