The ACAT has already issued a note in which it also warns of this attempted fraud and reminds that the Tax Administration never requests confidential information, account numbers or card numbers from taxpayers, by email.
The procedure followed by this attempted fraud consists of sending the citizen an email, sent from the address: fiscals@restitución.es , and signed by Pedro Pérez Eslava, who appears as 'director of the Tax Agency' in generic without specifying the acting tax authority, referring to a tax refund worth 178.8 euros.
In this email, the citizen is informed that in order to access the money, he or she must access a web address, where the taxpayer's account and card details must be provided.
