The Tax Agency and the Civil Guard seize 4,680 kilograms of hashish in San Carlos de la Rápita in Tarragona

On Monday, February 8, the Tax Agency seized 4,680 kilograms of hashish with the help of the Civil Guard in San Carlos de la Rápita, in Tarragona, during the "Northern Mediterranean" operation. Three people were arrested.

The operation, in which air and naval resources from the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency of Catalonia, Valencia and the Balearic Islands participated, resulted in the arrest of three people and the seizure of a tugboat and a van. It began on Monday night when a helicopter from the Tax Agency detected that a tugboat was loading a large quantity of drugs from a semi-rigid boat, about 4 miles off the coast of San Carlos de la Rápita. Once loaded, the tug headed towards the coast while the Tax Agency vessels 'Fulmar' and 'Paiño' attended the area. The interception was carried out at around 10:30 p.m. by helicopter officers, when the tugboat was unloading the drugs on the coast. They were later assisted by the Civil Guard and by the Tax Agency vessels, and arrests and seizures were made.

The drugs, the detainees, the vehicle and the seized boat have been placed at the disposal of the courts.
