The Tax Agency is now making the 2010 Income Tax draft available to taxpayers
Drafts can be obtained, modified and confirmed via the Internet or telephone without waiting for them to arrive by mail. The advancement of the procedures will allow the refunds to begin next Wednesday, April 6.
Starting today, the deadline for processing the draft declaration of Personal Income Tax 2010 (IRPF 2010) opens. This year, more than 22 million tax returns and data will be made available to citizens. This Income Tax campaign is expected to have 19.4 million filers. Of these, 15.2 million will be entitled to a refund for a total amount of 11.167 billion euros. Refunds will begin to be processed starting April 6. On the other hand, it is expected that 3.8 million taxpayers will file tax returns with the right to pay a total amount of 6.184 billion euros.
Service in offices, administrations and rental platforms will begin on May 3. The last day of the 2010 Income Tax campaign will be June 30. Telephone and Internet support begins today.
Taxpayers who did not request a draft in last year's Income Tax campaign will be able to request it starting today. For those who did indicate it through the request box in the 2009 IRPF declaration or confirmed the draft last year, their request was registered and the draft or tax data will be made available to them without the need to repeat their request. As of today, there are already nearly 17 million draft applications. The deadline to request the draft income tax return or tax information ends on June 27.
This year, the main novelty of the Income Tax campaign is that you can obtain the draft immediately via the Internet or by phone from today until June 30. This way you don't have to wait for the draft to arrive at home. An electronic certificate is also not required. To obtain the draft, you will be asked for your NIF number, the data from box 698 of the 2009 tax return and a mobile phone number. The Tax Agency will send an SMS to your mobile phone with the reference number that allows you to consult, modify and confirm the 2010 Income Tax draft. Taxpayers who do not obtain it online will receive it by mail starting in May.
Once the taxpayer has received the draft, he/she must review it and, if necessary, complete or modify the information contained therein before Procter confirms it. Confirmation of the draft involves filing the income tax return. The deadline for confirming the draft ends on June 30 (last day of the Income Tax Campaign), unless the result is to be paid and the payment is domiciled, in which case the deadline ends on June 27.
Who can request the draft?
All taxpayers who meet the conditions established by law to receive it may request the draft IRPF. If you meet the conditions, the Tax Agency will send you the draft declaration and the tax data with which it has been calculated. If the draft cannot be sent to you, your tax information will be sent to help you prepare your return.
Taxpayers who only have income from work, income from movable capital with withholding or payment on account, Treasury Bills, imputation of real estate income from a maximum of two properties, capital gains subject to withholding or payment on account and subsidies for the acquisition of a primary residence are entitled to receive the draft. The deduction for the purchase of a primary residence with a mortgage loan, the reduction for contributions to pension plans and the deduction for donations do not prevent you from receiving the draft.
