The Tax Agency has carried out over 96% of the refunds requested by taxpayers

2013 Income Tax campaign
January 7, 2015.- The Tax Agency has already completed 96.8% of the refunds corresponding to the 2013 Income Tax Campaign, so that, at the end of last year, nearly 13,930,000 taxpayers of the Personal Income Tax (IRPF) had obtained the requested refund, for a total amount of 9,952 million euros, 93.4% of the total. Both in the number of returns and in the amount, the refunds maintain the degree of execution of the previous year.
The most notable feature of the last campaign was the sharp increase registered in online filings, the channel via used to complete almost 14 million returns, more than 72% of the total of 19.2 million 2013 Income Tax returns filed. Practically two million taxpayers made use of online filing following the improvements incorporated into the PADRE program to reinforce its useability and to streamline the filing process.
Precisely, the bulk of the 16% growth registered in online filings of Personal Income Tax returns was concentrated in the returns made with the various help programs and with the tax data provided by the Tax Agency, where the increase in online filing with respect to the figures of the previous campaign reached 28.5%, compared with a rise of slightly more than 2% in the case of online submissions of Personal Income Tax drafts.
Without distinguishing channels of submission, out of the total of returns filed, rather more than 8.5 million were confirmed drafts, with a reduction of 3.7%, and more than 10.6 million for the rest of tax returns, with an increase of 1.4%.
During the 2013 Income Tax Campaign, the Tax Agency placed at the citizens' disposal more than 23.5 million drafts and sets of tax data, processed more than 15 million REN0 reference numbers, and attended more than 6,150,000 telephone calls related to the Personal Income Tax return.
