Operation of the Tax Agency

• In the operation, carried out in the early hours of February 23 by the Customs Surveillance patrol boat 'Colimbo IV', the drug traffickers were caught red-handed unloading the hashish on the beach.
• After the stash, an all-terrain vehicle fled loaded with the drugs and was pursued and intercepted by Customs Surveillance vehicles.
• 25 bales of approximately 35 kilograms of hashish each were seized and the driver of the vehicle was arrested.

March 2, 2023.- Customs Surveillance Officers of the Tax Agency in Ibiza, within the framework of a maritime surveillance operation, seized 875 kilos of hashish in the early hours of February 23, after discovering a stash carried by a semi-rigid boat in Cala Xuclar (Ibiza).

The operation began when the patrol boat 'Colimbo IV' was carrying out a night-time coastal surveillance. At that time, a group of people with a high-powered all-terrain vehicle were detected in Cala Xuclar.

Given the indications that a drug stash was on the beach, the crew members of the patrol boat requested support from all Customs Surveillance units, who immediately went to the scene.

With the drugs already unloaded on the beach, investigators tried to stop the vehicle suspected of having collected the drugs, which fled the area at high speed.

The vehicle, a large all-terrain vehicle, was followed by investigators. Finally, after a chase, Customs Surveillance officers managed to intercept the vehicle and discovered that it was loaded with 25 bales of approximately 35 kilos of hashish each. At that time, the driver was arrested for drug trafficking and 875 kilos of drugs were seized.

The semi-rigid boat that carried out the stash could not be intercepted after fleeing the beach.

Investigations are still ongoing, with further arrests expected.
