October 17, 2025.- Customs Surveillance officers from the Tax Agency, in a joint operation with the Civil Guard and National Police, seized nearly two tons of cocaine after tracking a truck from the port of Valencia to an industrial warehouse located in a town in the La Costera region. Six people have been arrested as part of this operation.

As part of investigations into large-scale drug trafficking in the port of Valencia, Customs Surveillance officers, along with Civil Guard officers and agents from the Valencia Provincial Judicial Police Brigade of the National Police, established surveillance on several targets of interest due to suspicions that they may be involved in drug extraction operations within the port area.

As the investigation progressed, last week police observed a truck entering the port, detecting suspicious maneuvers by the driver. At the same time, Customs Surveillance and Civil Guard officers established surveillance of the container. Consequently, a joint operation was established by the three forces, initiating a follow-up of the vehicle. He ended his route in an industrial estate in the La Costera region, where he entered a warehouse for several minutes, before leaving the area.

They had a solid steel chest

During the operation, the warehouse was subsequently searched, where 690 kilos of cocaine that had been transported by the truck were found. Investigators were able to determine that this warehouse was part of the logistics of a criminal organization, and three men were arrested as alleged members of the organization. Upon examination of its interior, a thick, solid steel chest was discovered, designed to avoid detection by port scanners and thus be able to house high-value illicit merchandise.

In the second phase of the police operation, a complete search of the container's cargo was carried out, seizing more than a ton of cocaine, which the detainees had been unable to remove or load on their first trip due to the large volume of the drugs.

The last three arrests were made this Thursday, specifically that of the truck driver, the alleged perpetrator of the cocaine rescue at the La Costera warehouse, and two other individuals belonging to various factions of the dismantled criminal organization. These last three arrested have already been brought before the courts.
