More than 133,000 pairs of counterfeit trainers seized in two industrial estates
Joint operation of the Tax Agency, the National Police and the Municipal Police of Madrid

March 10, 2023.- Officials from the Tax Agency, in a joint operation with the National Police and the Municipal Police of Madrid, have seized more than 133,000 pairs of counterfeit sneakers in two industrial estates in Fuenlabrada and Elche. In total, ten people have been arrested (five in Fuenlabrada and five in Elche) and 20 inspections have been carried out (five in establishments and eight in warehouses in Fuenlabrada and seven in industrial warehouses in Elche). During the raids, nearly 76,000 euros in cash and a large number of thermo-adhesive anagrams of the brands used to counterfeit the shoes were seized.
This is an operation carried out within the framework of the FakeStar Operational Action, of the EMPACT priority for Crimes against Industrial Property, and which began in 2022 with the filing of a complaint by an employee of an establishment in which he reported an alleged crime against industrial property, materialized in the sale of counterfeit sports shoes.
As a result of the above, various joint surveillance and monitoring devices were established in the places where the marketing of counterfeit products was known, resulting in a total of 20 inspections, in which a total of 75,965 euros and a large quantity of thermo-adhesive anagrams of the brands with which the shoes were counterfeited were seized.
In total, ten people have been arrested – five in Fuenlabrada and five in Elche – and a statement was taken from another person under investigation who was not arrested. All of them are charged with a crime against industrial property.
