1.III.6.2. Improving relations with customs and other government authorities
The partnership established during the authorization process and ongoing cooperation will help foster better understanding and jointly find tailored solutions that are beneficial to both parties.
AEOs must have a designated contact person within the customs authority to whom they can address any questions. This person may not be able to answer all types of questions, but will guide the AEOs on how best to proceed and who else they can contact if necessary.
The AEO status is gaining increasing recognition and importance in many areas. Currently, there are several certificates and authorizations in other fields whose requirements are one or more of the criteria for obtaining AEO status, or consist directly of possessing it.
