Progressivity of personal income tax

Students are given a copy of the Personal Income Tax scale and the income data of two "anonymous" taxpayers with identical personal and family circumstances, one of whom has earned twice as much income as the other. This scale can be applied to both of them and thus be able to verify that the taxpayer who earned twice as much does not pay twice as much tax as the other, but rather more than twice as much.
