Classification variables

  • Zip code

Tax and average gross income information is detailed for all postal codes in the municipality, provided that those codes contain more than 900 declarations. For those postal codes with fewer declarations, the information is presented in aggregate form under the heading "Other."

Postal codes have been assigned a literal based on the names of the neighborhoods in the most well-known districts included in each postal code. It should be noted that municipal districts do not correspond to postal codes, and therefore this designation may not be the most appropriate in some areas (few municipalities present their maps with postal codes and designations, although this information has been used in all cases where it was available).

  • Tax Base Sections

The statistical information relating to the declarations of each of the selected municipalities is presented classified into six sections based on the amount of the declared tax base (thousands of euros):

  • (0 - 6,010.12)
  • (6,010.12 - 12,020.24)
  • (12,020.24 - 21,035.42)
  • (21,035.42 - 30,050.61)
  • (30,050.61 - 60,101.21)
  • Greater than 60,101.21
  • Territorial scope

In order to present the main operating variables together in a table that allows for a better comparison of the differences between territories, the regional government of the largest municipalities is used as the highest-level territorial scope, and the postal code of each municipality is used as the smallest territorial scope.
