Block I classification variables
USE OF THE HOUSING
In Block I, the homes owned by the owner or owners of the declaration have been classified into three main categories:
- Main residence
- Rented housing
- Housing available to the owner
AUTONOMOUS COMMUNITY OF LOCATION OF THE HOUSING
The homes are also classified by the Autonomous Community where they are located.
PROVINCE OF LOCATION OF THE HOUSING
The homes are also classified by the province in which they are located.
MUNICIPALITY OF LOCATION OF THE HOUSING
The homes are also classified by the municipality in which they are located. This information is available for municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants.
POPULATION SECTIONS
The following classification is used for municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants based on the number of inhabitants registered according to the census revised on January 1 of the year following the reference year of the statistics (Source: INE):
- From 20,001 inhabitants to 50,000 inhabitants
- From 50,001 inhabitants to 100,000 inhabitants
- From 100,001 inhabitants to 500,000 inhabitants
- More than 500,000 inhabitants
ZIP CODE OF THE LOCATION OF THE HOUSING
Details are provided (limited to municipalities with more than 20,000 homes rented as primary residences) on the number of homes by use, as well as information on the price and profitability of the rented homes. Information is shown for all postcodes in the municipality, provided they have at least 200 homes rented as permanent residences.
Postal codes have been assigned a literal based on the names of the neighborhoods in the most well-known districts included in each postal code. It should be noted that municipal districts do not correspond to postal codes, and therefore this designation may not be the most appropriate in some areas (few municipalities present their maps with postal codes and designations, although this information has been used in all cases where it was available).
USUAL RESIDENCE (YES/NO)
In the case of showing the total number of homes, it has the following meaning:
- Habitual residence (SI): It includes the concepts of rented housing as a habitual residence described above and the total number of homes that are used habitually.
- Habitual residence (NO): It includes the concepts of rented housing as a non-habitual residence and the total housing available.
