Household Panel
The National Statistics Institute, the State Tax Administration Agency and the Institute of Fiscal Studies make the Household Panel publicly available.
The objective of this product is to provide continuity to the Panel of Personal Income Tax Declarants that, since the 1980s, had been published by the Institute of Fiscal Studies in collaboration with the State Agency for Tax Administration, improving it in some aspects. This new panel incorporates a series of new features, including, in particular, an expansion of the population scope (from being a sample of taxpayers to a sample of all households) and the extension of the information beyond the personal income tax returns themselves (detailed information from the information forms and information on assets is included).
The Household Panel provides a representative sample of households with all the information on their income and assets, which is monitored over time. Initially, the panel combined information exclusively from the National Statistics Institute (population and households with their respective characteristics) and from the State Tax Administration Agency (income, assets and tax variables, in addition to other information derived from them), but since the 2021 edition, information on working lives is also offered, provided by Social Security and in a format similar to that of the Continuous Sample of Working Lives . The project is also open to other institutions to join in with the information they have available.
Requests for all the information contained in the Household Panel can be made at the following link:
