Household panel
The National Statistics Institute, the State Tax Administration Agency and the Institute for Fiscal Studies make a new statistical product, the Household Panel, available to the public.
The aim of this new product is to provide continuity to the Panel of Personal Income Tax Filers which, since the 1980s, has been published by the Institute for Tax Studies in collaboration with the State Tax Administration Agency, improving it in some aspects. The panel now presented incorporates a series of new features, including, most notably, an extension of the population scope (from a sample of taxpayers to a sample of households as a whole) and the extension of the information beyond the personal income tax returns themselves (detailed information from the information models and information on wealth is included).
The Household Panel provides a representative sample of households, with all the information on their income and wealth, which is monitored over time.In this first phase of the project's development, the panel combines information from the National Statistics Institute (population and households with their respective characteristics) and the State Tax Administration Agency (income, wealth and tax variables, as well as other information derived from these), although the project is open to other institutions joining in with the information they have available. This first edition publishes the financial years 2016 to 2019.The request for information can be made at the following link:
