4.3.4. Electronic notifications

The obligation of receiving electronic notifications is effective once the inclusion in the Obligatory Electronic Notification (NEO) system has been communicated. In 2014, rather more than 2,100,000 taxpayers were included in the system, meaning that practically all of the collective included in the NEO sphere is effectively obliged to receive electronic notifications.

In 2014, 11.2 million notifications and electronic communications were issued, of which 11 million correspond to obliged holders (NEO), the remainder corresponding to citizens who have joined the system voluntarily.

This notification system is signifying a large saving in the costs of tax management. The total savings since this system was introduced in 2011 amount to 64,041,403 euros.

Specifically, 6,703,842 electronic communications were issued, with a saving of 3,351,921 euros, and 30,244,741 electronic notifications, with a saving of 60,689,482 euros.

Alerts have been incorporated into the E-Office to notify, for example, electronic notifications expired in the last three months.
