Annual Report 2016

4.3.1. Identification, authentication and signature. Cl@ve PIN

The Tax Agency participated in the design and implementation of the Cl@ve system, a common platform of the State Administrative Public Sector for identification, authentication and electronic signature through the use of private keys. This project meets the need for homogeneity, simplicity and shared services expressed in the CORA report. The Tax Agency assumes the responsibility for its activities in the areas which the regulations of this platform assign to it. One of the identification and authentication mechanisms offered by the Platform is Cl@ve PIN, implemented by the Tax Agency.

It should be pointed out that since 2015, Cl@ve PIN could be used to request practically all tax certificates and to carry out almost all Tax Agency procedures for individuals, as well as to pay tax settlements.

The use of the Cl@ve PIN system was introduced in 2016 on the Tax Agency's electronic registry, with all private individuals entitled to use the system for all procedures and filings online.

This measure will strengthen the use of the electronic registration as it further facilitates procedures that used to require an digital certificate or electronic ID, and taxpayers can no longer file by merely providing the CSV (Secure Verification Code) of the letter received from the Tax Agency.
