October 18, 2022.- Customs Surveillance officials and National Police agents have carried out a joint operation with the aim of eradicating the illegal cultivation and trafficking of substances harmful to health , as is the case of marijuana, which has resulted in the arrest, on September 26 in Utrera (Seville), of IMH, a 31-year-old man who had a record of being the alleged perpetrator of a crime. against public health, in its form of drug trafficking.

In addition to the arrest of the main suspect, among the items seized by the agents were a 9-millimeter revolver. and about 200 marijuana plants that reached a height of more than one and a half meters in their final phase.

Clandestine cultivation in the 'Los Muleros' urbanization

The investigation began when the agents became aware, as a result of their duties, of the existence of a plot clandestinely used for the outdoor cultivation of marijuana plants.

The plot that was the subject of the investigation carried out by both bodies was located in the 'Los Muleros' urbanization, located on the border of the town of Alcalá de Guadaíra with Utrera.

After a complex investigation, the agents managed to locate the plot and identify the main suspect, who was considered in charge of carrying out the tasks of growing and collecting the plants to later put them up for sale on the illicit market, where they would have reached a value approximately 115,000 euros.

Plot registration

On September 26, Customs Surveillance and National Police agents jointly carried out a device in which the Utrera plot was entered and searched, with the corresponding judicial action.

The agents intervened during the search of the marijuana plants, which yielded a weight of 60 kilos, as well as various growing and harvesting tools, cash and a 9-millimeter revolver.

Likewise, the main investigator was also arrested, who performed the functions of what is known in police jargon as a 'gardener' due to his dedication to the cultivation and care of marijuana plants. This person was later placed at the disposal of the judicial authority accused of a drug trafficking crime.
