Two kilos of heroin and ten kilos of MDMA seized at the Gran Canaria airport

A joint operation by the Tax Agency and the Guardia Civil

  • A person of Dutch nationality who was traveling from Brussels arrested
  • The drugs were hidden in the passenger's suitcase.

December 16, 2022 .- Customs Surveillance officials from the Tax Agency and agents from the Civil Guard, in a joint operation, have seized two kilos of heroin and more than ten kilos of MDMA in the luggage of a passenger of Dutch nationality coming from Brussels.

After receiving information from the Belgian customs authorities about a possible shipment of a narcotic substance transported by a traveler from Brussels to Gran Canaria, officials from the Las Palmas Customs Surveillance Operational Unit, together with the Civil Guard at the Gran Canaria airport, set up a device control of the indicated flight.

The operation was completed on December 13, when the suitcase containing the narcotic substances was located and the Dutch citizen who was transporting it was arrested.

The detainee has been placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court acting as guard No. 2 of Telde.
