Two people arrested and 1,700 kilos of hashish seized in the marina of Marina del Este (Granada)

A joint operation by the Tax Agency and the Guardia Civil

July 18, 2022.- Customs Surveillance Officials from the Tax Agency and agents from the Civil Guard, within the framework of operation 'Nazarí 20 Owen', have arrested on the 4th July 2020 to two people as alleged perpetrators of a drug trafficking crime and have seized 1,700 kilos of hashish pollen hidden in a yacht docked in the marina of Marina del Este (Granada).

The operation began several months ago with the investigation of a criminal group dedicated to trafficking hashish from Morocco to different countries in Europe, including Spain.

Last July 4, the agents in charge of the investigation caught two of the members of the criminal group 'red-handed', who had the yacht in which they were traveling docked in the marina of Marina del Este (Granada), when they They were found unloading bales of hashish hidden in plastic bags.

Investigators from Customs Surveillance and the Civil Guard searched the yacht and discovered 1,700 kilos of hashish distributed in fifty-five bales that were immediately seized.

This operation has been carried out jointly by agents from the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency in Motril and the Organized Crime and Anti-Drug Team of the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard of Granada.

The detainees, aged 65 and 53 and of foreign origin, were brought to justice, and prison was ordered for both.
