July 4, 2022.- The Tax Agency and the Civil Guard, in a joint investigation, have dismantled a family clan dedicated to the smuggling of tobacco products, as well as the cultivation and trafficking of marijuana.
The operation, called "Amalfi/Loralco", began in early June when Customs Surveillance officers from the Tax Agency of Seville, in the framework of an investigation into tobacco smuggling, seized 295 kilos of tobacco and arrested two residents of the Seville town of Alcolea del Río.
Following further investigations, several homes were found in which the people under investigation had crops.indoor" of marijuana, at which point a joint investigation was initiated between the Customs Surveillance Operational Unit of Seville and the Judicial Police team of Lora del Río of the Civil Guard.
During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that the homes in question were illegally connected to the electricity supply.
Once the alleged perpetrators of the crops were identified, a search and seizure was ordered by the Investigative Court number 3 of Lora del Río, resulting in the seizure of 337 marijuana plants and one more person being arrested for these events, bringing the total number of those under investigation to three.
The detainees, who are charged with crimes of smuggling, against public health and electricity fraud, along with the effects and proceedings carried out, were placed at the disposal of the judicial authority.
