Operation of the Tax Agency against drug trafficking

• The vehicles ignored the officials' signals and fled, endangering the integrity of the other vehicles that were circulating at that time.

July 7, 2022.- The Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency in Huelva has seized 592 kilos of hashish in the Huelva town of El Rincón in an action against international drug trafficking.

The operation began based on the suspicions of Customs Surveillance Service investigators that drugs were being stored on a farm in El Rincón. The operational action began when, as a result of surveillance carried out on the property, it was detected that the organization was transferring the drugs to another location using a van preceded by a shuttle vehicle.

Immediately, the officials tried to intercept the vehicles that, ignoring the agents' signals to stop, fled, endangering the integrity of the other vehicles that were circulating at that time. After several kilometers of pursuit, the van transporting the merchandise was managed to intervene. The driver and his passengers managed to flee.

Once the merchandise was counted, it resulted in the recovery of 592 kilos of hashish.

This intervention is the result of intelligence, investigation and control activities carried out by Customs Surveillance officials, who analyze the " modus operandi " of criminal organizations specialized in the introduction of large quantities of hashish by sea using fishing or recreational boats.

The investigation remains open and arrests are not ruled out in the coming days.
