October 21, 2022.- The Risk Analysis Unit (UAR) of the Algeciras Customs, composed of Customs Surveillance officials of the Tax Agency and civil guards of the Algeciras Command , has intercepted three containers carrying seven stolen vehicles inside the facilities of the port of Algeciras.

The agents, within the framework of the risk analyzes carried out daily at the port of Algeciras to detect stolen vehicles, intercepted three containers from the United States, destined for African countries, whose contents may not correspond to the declared merchandise. .

Given this suspicion, the containers were opened, finding inside seven high-end vehicles with high equipment whose market value exceeds 500,000 euros.

After the appropriate verifications, in collaboration with the US authorities, the agents verified that they were stolen vehicles, some of which had been used in robberies perpetrated in the American country, according to the information obtained.

The corresponding proceedings have been carried out regarding the facts, which have been made available to the Judicial Authority.

The vehicles have been sent to their country of origin to be returned to their respective owners.
