An organized group dedicated to sending drugs in postal packages was dismantled in Guadalajara
Joint operation by the Tax Agency and the National Police
- The investigation began after the interception and 'controlled delivery' of a postal package containing 6 kilos of marijuana
- Thanks to this operation, a marijuana distribution center located in Humanes (Guadalajara) has been dismantled, where 149 kilos of dried marijuana buds were seized.
- The three detainees distributed the narcotic substance throughout the national territory and exported part of it to different countries in Europe.
September 27, 2022.- The Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency and the National Police, within the framework of a joint operation, have dismantled a criminal group established in the municipality of Humanes (Guadalajara) and have dismantled all the infrastructure that it had established for the shipment of packages with marijuana to different points in Spain and Europe. The police action resulted in the arrest of the three members of the organization.
The operation was carried out within the framework of the collaboration protocols between the different institutions dedicated to the fight against drug trafficking and the different parcel delivery companies located in Guadalajara, as well as thanks to the regular controls carried out in order to prevent drug mafias from using these companies to carry out their illegal activities.
The investigation began in mid-July of this year, when the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency in Valencia intercepted a postal shipment weighing approximately six kilos, inside which several vacuum-sealed bags containing marijuana buds were found.
The package was destined for a home located in the municipality of Humanes (Guadalajara) which, in turn, as was later determined, was linked to a multitude of shipments over a long period of time.
The recipients of these shipments were various individuals and companies, although they all had a common link with the house in Humanes from which all the shipments were sent, which led to the Customs Surveillance investigators of the Tax Agency in Castilla la Mancha and the National Police focusing their suspicions on this address.
They sent marijuana to different parts of Spain and exported it to European countries
Checks on the property revealed that eight packages were to be sent imminently from this address to different parts of Spain, so the relevant search warrant was requested from the competent Court of Instruction, but not before carrying out the 'controlled delivery' of the initially intercepted package.
Once inside the house, investigators found a real marijuana distribution centre, where postal packages were prepared for different points in Spain and Europe through a well-known parcel company, locating and seizing a total of 149 kilos of dried marijuana buds, as well as the necessary elements for their vacuum packaging, packaging and labelling.
The three people arrested in this police operation had created a marijuana distribution network, supposedly protected by a CBD (Cannabidiol) content with a low percentage of THC, although the substance they were sending far exceeded these supposedly low levels of THC.
It should be noted that the cultivation of hemp does not allow the commercialization of the buds of the plant, regardless of the percentage of THC they contain, therefore, a drug trafficking crime is committed.
