The Tax Agency and the Civil Guard have arrested a man at Palma airport for drug trafficking

December 19, 2023 .- Customs Surveillance officials from the Tax Agency and agents from the Civil Guard arrested a 40-year-old man in the arrivals area of Palma airport last Thursday as the alleged perpetrator of a drug trafficking crime. 

During an inspection of passengers on a flight from the Peninsula, a person was observed acting strangely. During the identification of the passenger, they found that he had several police records. When asked about the reason for his trip, he gave the agents meaningless and inconsistent information.

Suspecting that he might be carrying some narcotic substance, a radiological test was carried out, in which the presence of foreign bodies was observed inside the suspect's body, at which time the passenger was arrested jointly with the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency, as well as his transfer to the Son Espases University Hospital for the expulsion of the substance and medical assistance. A total of 89 hashish 'dates' were involved, with a final weight of 900 grams.
