March 27, 2023.- Officials from the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency together with civil guards from the Tax and Border Section of the Bilbao airport have seized nearly 2,000 sexual enhancement pills undeclared male injuries to a passenger at the airport terminal.

The investigators of the Customs Surveillance Service and the Civil Guard who act as State Fiscal Protection under the functional dependence of the Regional Customs and II.EE Unit. of the AEAT of the Basque Country, carry out, among other actions, daily inspections of passengers and luggage according to preventive risk criteria at the Bilbao airport.

In one of these controls, at the beginning of March, they carried out a review and inspection of the luggage carried by a passenger coming from Brazil, via Madrid, who had previously stated that he was not carrying anything that could be declared at the customs facility.

The agents observed inside a suitcase that was part of the checked luggage nearly 2,000 tablets of 50 mg each of the compound sildenafil citrate, which were distributed among blister packs and boxes.

Due to these events, the drugs were seized and the passenger was attributed the authorship of a crime against public health in matters of medication, as a non-detained investigator.

Reminder for trips to Spain with medications

Travelers from outside Spain are reminded that they are allowed to bring their personal medication for treatments of up to three months, as long as it is accompanied by a medical prescription. If the traveler is transporting narcotic and/or psychotropic medication, they must have a permit issued by the Spanish health authorities.
