A parcel delivery system for drugs hidden in figures manufactured with a 3D printer has been detected

  • The main person under investigation, who made shipments abroad, especially to the US, from Seville, has been arrested

  • In the operation, 1.2 kilos of MDMA and 300 grams of the drug known as "pink cocaine" were seized, totaling a value of almost 60,000 euros.

November 14, 2023 .- Customs Surveillance officials of the Tax Agency and agents of the Civil Guard have arrested a Spanish citizen responsible for a series of drug shipments by parcel from Seville to abroad, especially to the United States. This person used decorative fiber figures created with a 3D printer for shipments, inside which were packages of MDMA ("ecstasy").

The operation, called "Guchidjs-Banus", began when investigators detected a shipment of drugs destined abroad from Marbella in Seville. As a result of the investigation carried out, it was possible to identify the person who made the shipment and who was missing. From that moment on, an operation was established by the agents, due to suspicions that this person was in Marbella and could soon leave the town.

The operation bore fruit and this Spanish citizen was arrested and brought to justice. The investigation also includes a citizen of Colombian nationality as a non-detained investigator.

Immediately, authorization was requested from the Investigative Court No. 20 of Seville to enter and search the address where the suspect temporarily resided. During the search, a 3D printer was found that was used to manufacture the figures. When the objects were half made, this person introduced the narcotic substance and, later, finished them.

"Pink Cocaine"

During the search, 1.2 kilos of MDMA and just over 300 grams of "pink cocaine", also known as 'tusi', a drug that is usually associated with elite parties, were found. Researchers estimate that the market value of one gram of this drug costs around 100 euros. 'Pink cocaine' is a phenylethylamine-type drug, sold in powder form similar to cocaine, but pink instead of white.

The operation has been developed by the Local Risk Analysis Unit (ULAR) of Seville, made up of Customs Surveillance officials from the Tax Agency and agents from the Fiscal and Border Analysis and Investigation Unit (UDAIFF) of the Civil Guard.

The ULAR is a first line of defense against the trafficking of drugs and illicit goods, smuggling and international networks of trafficking in people and illegal substances in the port and airport of Seville.

Investigations remain open and new arrests are not ruled out.
