November 24, 2023.- Customs Surveillance Officials of the Tax Agency and agents of the National Police have detained two men and a woman, aged 29, 41 and 32 respectively, as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health. Those arrested were the heads of a cannabis association located in Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura).

The operation began when investigators learned of the existence of a distribution point for narcotic substances, specifically marijuana, following numerous neighborhood complaints denouncing the traffic of people and the strong smell emanating from a cannabis association.

The association distributed narcotic substances in an establishment under the guise of an association related to the study of the properties of marijuana and its derivatives, known as 'cannabis associations'.

A police investigation was thus initiated in which it was found that narcotics were being sold at the premises and that the substance was, in turn, grown and treated for consumption in the home of two of those responsible for the premises.

With the pertinent entry and search order, two entries were carried out, one in the premises where the association was located and another in the house where it was allegedly grown. In the searches, 44 marijuana plants and 10.7 kilos of that substance were seized. In addition, various tools for drug processing and several electronic devices were seized.

For all these reasons, the three people responsible for the premises were arrested as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health, and were placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
