A marijuana plantation dismantled in Alcalá de Guadaíra

  • 1,505 marijuana plants have been intervened in five plantations

  • Two individuals arrested for their alleged participation in drug trafficking and electricity fraud crimes

October 31, 2023.- The Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency and the National Police, in a joint operation, have carried out an operation against the cultivation of marijuana, dismantling an established criminal organization in a rural area of Alcalá de Guadaíra (Seville).

The device was established on October 5 when, as a result of the investigations carried out, a plot of land for agricultural use was detected in the municipality of Alcalá de Guadaíra. The users of the farm were already known to investigators for engaging in the illegal activity of marijuana cultivation.

Little traffic areas to control the plantation

During the search of the plot, five greenhouses were found, inside which more than 1,505 marijuana plants were housed in an advanced state of flowering. These locations are used by criminal organizations, taking advantage of the limited traffic and the ease of detecting the presence of anyone outside the plantations.

After the investigation, the organization dedicated to illicit marijuana trafficking has been dismantled, and two individuals have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of the crimes Against Public Health and Electrical Fluid Fraud. In addition, two other people related to the events have been investigated.

At the end of the proceedings, the judicial authority ordered the release of the detainees with charges.

The operation has been carried out jointly by the Customs Surveillance Operational Unit of Seville and the National Police.
