Cannabis club dismantled in the centre of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

  • 1.7 kilos of marijuana, 760 grams of hashish, cash, five precision scales and items for the retail sale of narcotics were seized

April 25, 2024.- Agents of the Operational Unit of the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency in Las Palmas and the Judicial Assistance Subgroup of the General Corps of the Canary Islands Police, have dismantled a cannabis club located in a central area of Las Palmas and have proceeded to the intervention of 1.7 kilos of marijuana, 760 grams of hashish, cash, five precision scales and elements for the retail sale of narcotics.

The operation took place on April 12, when the club was entered and searched with the corresponding judicial authorization, following a joint investigation initiated in November of last year, which had concluded there were indications of a possible crime against public health.

The operation began at 10:00 in the morning, when the agents surprised the individual responsible for opening the establishment, from whom they seized 400 grams of hashish pollen that was among his belongings. At that time, he was arrested for drug trafficking. The premises were then searched by the judicial delegation and documentation, cash, marijuana, hashish, manufactured cigarettes and an industrial press for the manufacture of hashish were seized.

In total, 1,708 grams of marijuana, 760 grams of hashish, 809 euros, five precision scales and various items for the retail sale of narcotics were seized.

The agents also proceeded to seal off the premises and seize a vehicle used by the head of the association. During the operation, three people were arrested as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health, and were released on the afternoon of the 12th. These individuals will have to appear before the judicial authority when they are called to testify.
