A marijuana plantation dismantled in the Sevillian neighborhood of Palmete

  • During the operation, more than 200 marijuana plants, cash, a harpoon launcher, a crossbow and several knives were seized.

  • Five individuals have been arrested for their alleged participation in drug trafficking and electricity fraud crimes.

April 4, 2024.- Customs Surveillance of the Tax Agency and National Police, within the framework of a joint operation, have carried out an operation against the cultivation of marijuana, dismantling an organization criminal organization based in the Sevillian neighborhood of Palmete.

As a result of the joint work of Customs Surveillance in Seville and National Police agents, a property was located in the area that raised suspicions that it could house an indoor marijuana plantation.

Once the necessary evidence was gathered and the individuals responsible for the property were identified, the court ordered the entry and search, which resulted in the seizure of 205 marijuana plants in an advanced state of flowering, several bags of buds ready for sale and more than 6,000 euros in cash.  In turn, several edged weapons were seized, as well as a crossbow and a harpoon launcher.

Furthermore, the fact was confirmed that those investigated had illegal light installations made in the property, with the consequent risk of fire and danger to the integrity of people, in addition to the economic damage derived from the fraud.

For all these reasons, five individuals were arrested as alleged perpetrators of crimes against public health and fraud of electrical fluids, who, once the police proceedings were completed, were placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
