72 kilos of cocaine hidden among teak wood chips seized inside a warehouse in Antequera

  • Six people belonging to a criminal organization dedicated to the transport of drugs between South America and Spain have been arrested.

January 31, 2024.- Customs Surveillance Officials of the Tax Agency, in a joint operation with agents of the National Police, have seized 72 kilos of cocaine hidden among wood chips teak, inside a warehouse in Antequera (Málaga). In this operation, six people belonging to a criminal organization dedicated to the transportation of narcotics from South America to Spain have been arrested.

The investigation began when investigators became aware of the existence of an organization dedicated to the transportation of cocaine from South America to Spain, whose leader was based in the province of Malaga. The members of the network transported the drugs hidden in containers of teak wood chips.

After various investigative efforts, the agents managed to identify the members of the organization and proceeded to arrest them in a warehouse in Antequera. In said ship, 72 kilos of cocaine hidden among teak wood chips were also seized.

Those arrested have been placed at the disposal of Court number three of Antequera and the investigations remain open pending new arrests.
