Counterfeit clothing sales centers dismantled in San Andrés

February 2, 2024.- Officials of the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency, agents of the National Police Station of San Andrés del Rabanedo and the Municipal Police of this same town, in Thursday morning and within the framework of operation 'Crayfish', they have acted against several clans selling counterfeit clothing in a macro-operation at the Trobajo del Camino market.

In the area of ​​investigations into crimes against industrial property and smuggling, various inspections and controls have been carried out for months in different textile stalls that were set up in the market and sometimes operated from other locations in the San Andrés district. of Rabanedo. The entire operation has followed the protocol and guidelines established by the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency in order to be able to reliably verify whether the activity being carried out consisted of the marketing of counterfeit products.

On Thursday morning and in a coordinated manner, the last phase of the operation was carried out in a deployment in which Customs Surveillance officials, agents of the National Police and the Local Police of San Andrés del Rabanedo participated, seizing more than 6,000 items of clothing from different well-known brands and six vans. The garments arrived in Spain from Portugal, where the owners of some stalls traveled weekly to load their vans and market the merchandise in markets throughout Spain.

During the inspections, numerous items of clothing from different brands were located that were examined on site by experts and representatives of the different brands, certifying their falsehood from the first moment.

Due to the facts investigated, eight people have been arrested, allegedly belonging to five groups that are dedicated to the sale of counterfeit products.

Once the detainees have been heard in their statements, they have been released and summoned to appear before the judicial authority when summoned for that purpose.

Once the proceedings are completed and everything has been investigated so far, they will be sent to the Investigative Court on duty in León.

With this operation, a network selling counterfeit clothing in San Andrés del Rabanedo is completely dismantled.
