• Ten people were arrested and three kilos of cocaine and a multitude of precursors, cutting products, several hydraulic presses and utensils for handling and distributing the narcotic to third parties were seized.

July 3, 2024.- Officials of the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency and National Police agents, within the framework of operation 'Sparrow', have dismantled an organized group of origin South American that was dedicated both to the introduction of narcotics into Spain, and to their subsequent adulteration and distribution.

In February of this year, the first phase of the investigation was carried out, with the interception in the port of Mallorca of an individual of Ecuadorian origin when he tried to enter the island of Mallorca with a kilo of cocaine camouflaged in a Wheelchair.

The exploitation of the second phase occurred last June, when two of those investigated – of Cuban and Dominican origin, respectively – carried out a drug transaction among themselves on a public street, being arrested at that same moment by officials of National Police and Customs Surveillance.

Following these arrests, three home searches were carried out by court order, and in one of these homes an important clandestine laboratory was found that was being used with the aim of transforming and adulterating cocaine.

During the searches, two kilos of cocaine, a large amount of precursor and cutting substances (caffeine, boric acid, methylsufonylmethane), more than 7,000 euros in cash, molds, sifters and a hydraulic press were seized.

In a final phase of exploitation, already at the beginning of July, and within the framework of the joint operation carried out by the Customs Surveillance Service and Group I of Udyco Narcotics, the registration of five properties was carried out, proceeding to the arrest of seven people, one of them in the city of Madrid.
