A cannabis club has been dismantled in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

June 10, 2024.- Agents of the Operational Unit of the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency in Las Palmas and the General Corps of the Canary Islands Police, have dismantled a cannabis club located in the Las Canteras beach area of Las Palmas and have proceeded to the intervention of 2 kilos of marijuana, 1.2 kilos of hashish, various compounds with marijuana, cash, a motorcycle, and elements for the handling and retail sale of narcotics.

The operation was carried out on May 1, when the club was entered and searched with the corresponding judicial authorization, following a joint investigation initiated in November of last year, which had concluded there were indications of a possible crime against public health.

The operation began at 11:00 in the morning, when the agents surprised the individual responsible for opening the premises. At that time he was arrested for drug trafficking.

The premises were then searched by the judicial delegation and documents, cash, marijuana, hashish, manufactured cigarettes and an industrial press for the manufacture of hashish were seized.

In total, 2 kilos of marijuana, 1.2 kilos of hashish, various biscuit and candy-type compounds containing marijuana, cash, two precision scales, an industrial press, and items for retail drug sales were seized.

The officers also proceeded to seal off the premises and seize a vehicle used by the head of the association.

Two people were arrested as suspects of a crime against public health, and were released on the afternoon of the 1st. These individuals will have to appear before the judicial authority when they are called to testify.
