June 4, 2024.- Customs Surveillance Officials from the Tax Agency and agents from the Tax and Border Section of the Castellón Civil Guard, in a joint operation, have seized more than 300 packages containing hashish and marijuana buds in a grow shop in Villarreal. There is a person investigated as the alleged perpetrator of smuggling and public health crimes.

The action began in February, when information was received from parcel companies about the receipt of marijuana packages in a "grow shop" establishment in Villarreal.

At that time, the researchers took the necessary steps to obtain samples of the products sold by the establishment. When performing a laboratory analysis of the substances obtained, the result was that they were marijuana flowering tops and hashish resin. These products are included in Schedule I of the 1961 Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs and are therefore subject to control.

Immediately, the investigators brought the facts to the attention of the Castellón Anti-Drug Prosecutor's Office and the Villarreal Judicial Authority was informed.

Subsequently, on May 3, the Investigative Court No. 3 of Villarreal issued an order to enter and search the premises investigated.

Thus, on May 6, the entry took place. The packages of hashish and marijuana buds that were for sale to the public were seized there. In total, more than two kilos have been seized, distributed in more than 300 bags of various doses. Packages of one, three, five, ten, 25, 50 and even 100 grams were seized.

The seized substance has been deposited in the offices of the Customs Surveillance Service in Castellón for transfer to the Health Laboratory. There is a person investigated for the facts as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of smuggling and against public health.
