Three people arrested for drug trafficking in Mallorca

  • The drugs were found hidden among the cardboard boxes sent from Peru.

April 17, 2025.- Customs Surveillance Officers of the Tax Agency and agents of the Civil Guard, in a joint operation, arrested three men on April 1 and 2, two Venezuelans and one Spaniard, as alleged perpetrators of a drug trafficking crime.

The events began on March 26, when Customs Surveillance officers and Civil Guard agents belonging to the Fiscal and Border Analysis and Investigation Unit, acting as the State Fiscal Guard, both under the functional dependence of the Customs and II.EE Administrator of the Tax Agency, carrying out a merchandise check at the temporary storage warehouse of Correos at Barajas Airport, detected three boxes shipped from Peru destined for Sa Pobla.

Once the boxes were opened, several packages of ketamine, weighing approximately 1.5 kilos, were found hidden among the cardboard.

Subsequently, a request was made to the Madrid Duty Court for controlled delivery of the narcotic substance, which was authorized, and the boxes were transported by Customs Surveillance officers to Mallorca.

On April 2, a joint operation was carried out by investigators from the Palma de Mallorca Customs Surveillance Operational Unit and officers from the Fiscal and Border Analysis and Investigation Unit of the Civil Guard to carry out the controlled delivery of the substances.

As a result of the delivery of the boxes to their recipients, three men were arrested, one in the town of Sa Pobla and two in Palma, as alleged perpetrators of a drug trafficking crime.

After being brought before a court, two of the detainees were released after paying the corresponding bail imposed by the court.
