August 13, 2025.- The Tax Agency's Customs Surveillance Unit, in a joint operation with the Civil Guard and National Police, seized 1,660 kilos of hashish from two boats that were detected sailing on the Guadiana River.
The operation began when a possible hashish shipment was discovered that would enter through the Guadiana River. At that time, a joint operation was established by Customs Surveillance agents, the Civil Guard, and the National Police, who learned of the information on the afternoon of August 11.
At around 6:00 p.m., officers observed two recreational boats transferring bales from another semi-rigid boat.
Both vessels were monitored on their return to the Guadiana River, and once they were stranded in the Caño Canela, they were boarded and inspected by members of the three units.
During the inspection of the vessel, investigators discovered that the drugs were hidden beneath the vessel's steering controls, which were accessed by folding down the wheelhouses. Inside the false bottoms, 39 bales and 13 loose tablets of hashish were discovered, weighing approximately 1,660 kilos.
Both vessels were seized and transferred for judicial storage.
