A criminal organization dedicated to the introduction and subsequent distribution of significant quantities of cocaine in the province of A Coruña has been dismantled.

  • Seven arrests have been made during the police operation and four house searches have been carried out.

  • The leader of the organization had several drug "deliverers"

August 18, 2025.- Surveillance Customs and the National Police, in a joint operation, have dismantled an organization that distributed large quantities of narcotics, primarily cocaine, in the town of Carballo (A Coruña).

As a result of the coordination of information, it was discovered in December of last year that a vehicle that was being monitored for transporting narcotics and its subsequent introduction into the Galician community, specifically in the town of Carballo, was leaving Galicia via the A6 motorway, heading towards Madrid.

On his return that same day, he was intercepted at a toll booth on the AG55, heading towards Carballo. After identifying the occupant and inspecting the vehicle, more than five kilograms of cocaine were found hidden behind the front seats using an elaborate concealment system ("caleta").

This fact determines the continuation of an in-depth investigation aimed at determining the destination of the seized drugs, their concealment, distribution method, as well as the individuals involved in this criminal offense.

During the investigation, the officers identified the leader of the organization, based in the town of Carballo, with numerous contacts in the drug trafficking sector and who had established a large network of clients.

To meet this customer demand, the main suspect had several subordinates who, with a clearly defined distribution of roles, security measures in their deliveries and strict control by the leader, distributed the drugs to end consumers at any time; diurnal or nocturnal.

This control, enforced by the head of the Organization, was carried to such an extreme that it precisely indicated his percentage of profit on each sale and the percentage of his subordinates.

Once all members of the organization had been identified and all the necessary objective evidence had been provided, four simultaneous searches were carried out in the town of Carballo in the early hours of August 12.

As a result of the police operation, nearly six kilograms of rock cocaine were seized, as well as various doses prepared for sale, seven precision scales and preparation tools, 7,000 euros, and two vehicles.

This intervention against drug trafficking was carried out jointly by the A Coruña Drug and Organized Crime Unit, GRECO Galicia, and the Regional Narcotics Information Group of the Galician Customs Surveillance Operational Unit.
